In 1811 and 1812, Blytheville was home to the Great New Madrid earthquake. Although Blytheville was not a township, residents and eye witnesses record great devastation, including the backward flow of the Mississippi River. There has been hundreds of earthquakes since the Great New Madrid earthquake. Joseph’s Dream, a vision for preparedness and safety, was birthed from the need to become proactive in the event of a national crisis. It has been said, “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.” Our commitment to Gospel Lighthouse Church is to teach preparedness and safety in a day of uncertainty and unstableness.
